About

Welcome to The Way of the Source — a space for the wanderers, the wonderers, and the ones who never quite fit the mold.

I’m JD. I grew up drenched in Pentecostal fire, led worship for thousands, and fronted a Christian metal band that toured the country. I preached certainty from the stage while quietly wrestling with my own questions in the shadows. Eventually, those questions led me down a road I never expected: the road of deconstruction.

But unlike most of my peers, I didn’t stop there.

This isn’t just a place to tear things down. It’s a space to rebuild — to rediscover a faith that doesn’t demand blind obedience or fear, but invites awe, curiosity, and deep connection. A space to search for truth when everything else falls apart. What I’ve found through the words of Jesus is a mystical, inclusive vision of spirituality rooted in love, wonder, and the Source beneath it all.

Here, I share my story, my struggles, and the insights I’ve uncovered along the way. We talk theology, but we also talk mystery. We challenge toxic religion, but we don’t stop at critique. We go deeper — into ancient wisdom, into the beauty of paradox, into the wild and living pulse of the divine that’s woven through everything.

If you’ve ever felt like you were handed a version of God that felt too small, too angry, too religious, or too transactional, you’re not alone.

If you’ve ever felt the rumble beneath the surface that there has to be more — you’re not alone. And you’re definitely on to something.

You’re in good company here.

So let’s explore. Question. Doubt out loud. Wonder wildly.
This is The Way of the Source — and it’s only just the beginning.
